The Unfailing Love Of GOD

Unfailing love is how the NIV of the Bible translate the Hebrew word "Checed". Other versions like the; NKJV, AMP, Revised Standard, e.t.c. translate it as "Steadfast love, loving kindness, mercies, faithfulness, kindness, love. If you ask; why so many translations for one Hebrew word? I'll say its simply because there is no single English word that fully expresses the meaning of "Checed".

This single Hebrew word "Checed" also includes the concepts of generosity and favor, of loyalty and mercy, of goodness and devotion, of grace and faithfulness, of protection and blessing. So when we used "Checed" to describe our God, it applies primarily to God's particular love relationship with those who are His chosen, those who have entered into a covenant relationship with Him. That includes you if you have placed your faith in Jesus' sacrifice for our sins on the cross.

Through out my journey in Christ, I realized that no matter what we go through in life, as far as we are rooted in Him, He will always be with us, His love will not be shaken, nor His covenant of peace be removed. According to "Isaiah 54:10" which says "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed", says the lord, who has compassion on you".

Romans 8:38-39 says "For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord".

Even in moments when we know we've failed, fallen short, or taken a misstep, He is there, loving us. "God loves you with compassion and acceptance". He's in it with us forever and ever. "Hebrews 13:5" says "...I will never leave you nor forsake you".

Conclusion

In summary, God's unending love for us was proven by the sacrifice He made for us; He gave His only begotten son to die for our sins so we can be saved in Christ Jesus. According to "John 3:16" "For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life". That is the greatest love of all. No one, I mean no one can ever lay down his/her life for another.

Prayer Point

O Lord my Father, please give me the grace to accept your unending love for my life, even in my weak times, give me the grace to stand strong in you, remembering your compassion for my life. In Jesus name. Amen.
