"Blessed is the Man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him." - (James 1:12). Another bible verse says "And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." - (1 Pet 5:10). There is no amount of suffering that you are passing through now that God is not aware of; you might be receiving blames and punishments for what you know nothing about, you might be facing some certain challenges in your marriage; it could be an unhappy home, it could be you have no children. But God said that you should "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer" - (Rom 12:12).

I do not know what you are passing through, different people with different problems; even I myself I'm not left out, there are some times when I feel like all hope is lost, but I remember that I serve a living God who promises not to leave nor forsake me, and then I remember His word in the book of (1 Cor 10:13) which says "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Isn't that wonderful? having the assurance that God will always provide a way in every situation that you find yourself in. He said that He is going to make a way for you, for us, even in the wilderness, all we just need to do is to trust in Him. So you see, apart from God helping us out, we also have our own role to play, all he wants from us is out Trust and Faith, that's all.

I know many might be saying "but I'm being mocked" Yes, they will surely laugh at you, even Hannah in the bible was mocked, Sarah our Mother was mocked. But I want you to note that there was something significant about these two women; yes they laughed last, but they laughed the best, the loudest, the Joyfullest. All you need to know is that; when they laugh at you, do not fight for yourself, leave the fight to God, for He said "I will fight for you, and you have only to be silent." (Exodus 14:14).

What is the Purpose of Trails?

The purpose of trials may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Christ Jesus. The trails in our lives test our faith, they prove the genuineness of our faith which is something that God finds very precious to Him. In my first blog post, I wrote about Spiritual Maturity, well another purpose of Trails is that you can achieve spiritual growth more readily, than by comfort.

Conclusion

God knows everything we are passing through at this very moment and everything we will go through in the future. He knows the best way to handle every situation so we get the best possible outcome and we need to trust Him with that. We need to follow His path and trust that He knows best, because He does.

  • O Lord my Father give me the grace to overcome temptation, and help me to find my strength in Christ Jesus. Amen.
